Papa Gus, Mama Flora, and their young cub, Barnaby, were buzzing with excitement. It was time for their annual road trip to the Great Berry Bog! They packed their old woody station wagon with honey pots, fishing rods, and cozy blankets, ready for a week of feasting and fun.

Papa Gus, who always insisted he knew a shortcut, confidently turned the car down a strange, smooth black path. "This will save us hours! " he declared. But soon, the familiar smell of pine trees and damp earth was replaced by something new and much less pleasant. The road grew wider, and the trees started to look very, very strange.
They arrived in a forest of towering, straight, grey trees that gleamed in the sun. Strange metal beetles with round black feet rushed all around them, making loud honking and rumbling noises. "Wow! " whispered Barnaby from the back seat. "What a strange and noisy zoo! Look at all the funny creatures! "
He pointed a paw at the humans walking on special flat paths. They didn't seem to notice the bear family at all; they were too busy staring at little glowing squares in their paws. Barnaby waved a friendly hello, but no one waved back. "They are not very friendly for zoo animals," he huffed.
Feeling peckish, Papa Gus spotted a building with bright pictures of food on it. He rolled down the window and gave a friendly roar to ask for some berries. But instead of offering snacks, the humans all pointed and ran inside! The bears decided this zoo was not for them.
Luckily, Mama Flora had the map. She patiently guided Papa Gus off the strange black paths and back toward the familiar forest roads. As the tall grey trees disappeared behind them, they all breathed a sigh of relief. The Great Berry Bog was much better than the human zoo, and now they had a very funny story to tell all their friends.
